Ski Patrol
The Christie Mountain Ski Patrol is made up of dedicated and trained volunteer skiers and snowboarders that provide initial emergency care, stabilization and evacuation to injured skiers, snowboarders and tubers on the hill and on the premises of Christie Mountain. The patrol trains for emergency situations such as rescuing skiers and boarders from the chair lift, steep slopes, wooded areas, etc.
National Ski Patrol.
Christie Mountain Ski Patrol is part of the Central Division, Western Region of the National Ski Patrol. The Ski Patrol recognizes Core Values: Excellence, Service, Camaraderie, Leadership, Integrity, Responsiveness.
The National Ski Patrol (NSP), founded in 1938, has followed its creed of "Service and Safety" since the establishment of skiing as a popular sport in the United States.
Local Support.
Local emergency services that support the Christie Mountain Ski Patrol include Rusk County Ambulance service (Basic EMT), Bruce Fire and Rescue, Rice Lake Ambulance service (paramedic), Life Link III Helicopter.
Join The Patrol
Become a member of the Christie Mountain Ski Patrol and join a group of dedicated volunteers who are ready for any situation imaginable on the snow. We offer both the classroom instruction and the on the snow training necessary to become a member of the National Ski Patrol and our own members will be there to help you through the process. After becoming members of our patrol our volunteers refresh on their medical skills and ski rescue techniques on an annual basis so they are ready for anything.
